Municipal waste removal
In certain cities and municipalities sole proprietors must pay for municipal waste removal, or “garbage”, as a separate utility service.
This obligation is especially relevant for sole proprietors registered in Vojvodina.
How does it work?
After you register as a sole proprietor and declare your registered office, the competent utility company may register you as a business user and bills start arriving at the registered office address.
This usually means you do not need to wait for a separate decision as with taxes or the environmental fee.
Also, the fact that you work from home or entirely online and practically do not generate additional waste does not automatically mean you will not be charged as a business user.
How much does it cost?
The amount and method of calculation depend on the city or municipality and the local utility company.
The fee may be determined based on business premises area, type of activity or another locally prescribed criterion.
For this reason there is no single amount that applies to all flat-rate taxpayers.
